When NASA found that the Red-Light therapy activated natural plant growth in space, they started researching medical applications for people. NASA’s findings demonstrated health benefits from specific wavelengths that the red light delivered through light emitting diodes (LEDs).
The medical science community took notice and over the last 3 decades, there has been extensive clinical research on the various medical applications of red-light therapy. The results are extremely encouraging for people seeking natural, non-invasive treatments for a wide range of medical conditions.
Biologists have found that cells exposed to near-infrared light from LEDs grow 150 to 200 percent faster than cells not stimulated by such light. The
Red LED Light rejuvenates and tightens the skin at the same time, reduces hormone levels, minimizes fine lines, wrinkles and pores, eliminates skin discoloration and pigmentation, diminishes scars and prevents stretch marks. In Addition, the Red-light therapy can improve general joint problems that are unrelated to arthritis.
A 2015 systematic review on Lasers in a Medical Science research facility found that red light therapy plus ultrasound show strong results for treating hand osteoarthritis on women, with a major decline in pain. This meta-analysis also documented extensive, positive results for the use of light therapy for arthritis in the knees, neck, back, jaw, and other areas.
Another systematic review in The Australian Journal of Physiotherapy researched 11 clinical trials of light therapy for chronic joint disorders in the knee. Across all these studies, light therapy reduced pain while improving overall joint function.
